An epoxy floor is a system of layers bonded to diamond-ground concrete: a primer, a base coat, the decorative body coat and a protective topcoat. Here’s how a metallic epoxy floor is built, from bare concrete up.

Polished Concrete
Your slab, refined.
We grind the slab with progressively finer diamonds, harden it with a densifier and polish it to the shine you choose, from satin to mirror. There’s no coating to peel or wear through, upkeep is minimal, and the result looks like natural stone.

Polished Concrete questions
Polished concrete or epoxy: which should I choose?
Polished concrete has no coating to peel and needs little upkeep. Epoxy offers more colour, a fully sealed surface and better chemical resistance. We help you weigh both for your space.
Can any concrete slab be polished?
Most can. The slab’s condition shows through, so we inspect it first and remove old coatings, adhesives and sealers before grinding.
How do I maintain a polished concrete floor?
Dust mop daily and wash with a neutral cleaner. Heavy-traffic floors can be refreshed with a burnish rather than a full re-polish.

How a floor comes together.

01Test the slab
We check the concrete for moisture and look over every crack and old coating before we choose the system.
02Diamond grind and repair
Grinding opens up the surface so the coating can bond, with the dust pulled straight into the extractor. Cracks and spalls get filled.
03Base coat
A pigmented epoxy base coat goes down across the whole floor, wall to wall.
04Full flake broadcast
Vinyl flake is broadcast into the wet base until none of the base coat shows through.
05Scrape and topcoat
Loose flake is scraped and vacuumed, then a clear, UV-stable topcoat locks it in.
06Park on it
Usually within 24 to 48 hours of the topcoat, depending on temperature.
